We lost a hundred and something year old tree in December and Mike, my husband, has been telling everyone to look at the photos I have online using a hidden link. So, I thought this may be a good place to post the photos of what is left of the tree. I can't believe how saddened I was with this loss, but this was no ordinary tree. It was actually the reason we bought our house. It gave us shade and beauty and blocked the wind coming off the mountains. Now there is just an empty space where the large, trunk sized branches used to be.
This is a "before" photo of our tree, taken last winter.
We thought the tree would outlive us, but I guess it's time was up.
I'm really going to miss the shade this summer....
